ePoe/ eRey - Store Champion of a 32 person Store Championship held at The Games Store, Lincoln, UK.

I turned to Poe Rey after deciding it was time to move on from my Poe Maz deck. I found it a little pre-programmed and didn't have enough mitigation for match ups against emo Boys, Vadar Raider and ePalp lists.

I really wanted to stick with heros and took inspiration from a Poe Rey list by Aquaphe5.

I have changed the battlefield as I feel Frozen Wastes can help with mitigation (when I win the battleground - which for me isn't as frequent as you would expect). It is important to have the battlefield throughout the rounds so you can hit first/ use defensive position.

I also changed Ben Kenobi's journals as although it did help to pull cards from your deck I felt it wasn't critical. Force Illusion helps me stay alive against rush damage.

You can use vibroknives and holdout blasters to essentially have 6 hit and runs.

I am aiming to get Rey equipped with combo of Force Throw, Mind Probe, Force Speed or One With the Force by mid game which makes her a force to be reckoned with mid game.

I will hard mulligan for C-3PO - so can exploit specials on U-Wing, Mind Probe, Force Throw - specials everywhere! Also be aware of options with OWTF - discard cards or resources - prevent rise again for example. 2nd priorities are deck specific mitigation (deflect, defensive position, guard) or speed (hit and run, force speed) against aggro decks.

If you have any any questions or comments on the deck please let me know. Jo

Congratulations Moon on your success. I love the subtle changes in your variant, and absolutely encourage players to branch out with their own innovations. It's wonderful to hear about your trophy finish.

Poe/Rey is an incredibly powerful deck in the current competative environment right now. This character combination is often overlooked by some of the other more notorious top decks.

I believe the illusion and frozen waste are brilliant incursions to this frame. I look forward to testing this variant in the upcoming weeks. Congratulations again.

How essential are the OWTF? Only thing I don't have >_<

Gah can't edit. Meant to put in my above comment, maybe swap in Rocket Launchers? Or is the deck too resource starved for those?

Thanks Aquaphe5 Yes I agree, I think there will be more people running this deck over the coming weeks. A few people from the Lincoln tournament have said that they are going to try it out. :)

I hope your testing goes well, I would love to hear how it goes. :)

@Moophisto OWTF is a really cool card in this deck - its ability to do 2/3 of whatever you need it to do is a real threat against lots of different decks. Plus your opponent may have 2nd thoughts about targeting Rey, which can be lethal when she is tooled it.

Resources tend to vary from scrimping by one game, to having loads the next. You tend to be tight in the early rounds as you are saving up for MP, FT whilst trying to get out C-3PO and pay for mitigation.

I think for cards to "throw" the lightbow does a great job with possible 5 damage, but potential for multi character damage is worth trying.

HI, We'll be featuring this list on thehyperloops.com today. I (NJCuenca) have been running Poe Rey recently and was curious if you still liked guard? I found it inconsistant. I've been trying Heroism, overconfidence, field medic and I will be trying some jedi robes. Cheers!

Hi, that's great :) I look forward to listening to the podcast!

I know what you mean about it's inconsistency, but I have found that it does help bail me out from time to time. It's nil cost is a bonus in games where I am struggling for resources and it's slightly less damaging if it's pulled versus Baby vadar Keylo or Unkar.

I have done limited testing with overconfidence - it is something I am experimenting with too. I think this is a potential contender to swap out for.

I am less inclined to play heroism in this list as I tend to be on the edge health wise, so this would add additional pressure on that. Have you managed ok health wise with this?

Field medic is good to help with health, but I wouldn't want to swap out guard for this as I think you need the mitigation against none damage sides too.... e.g. Discard cards v Palp when your sitting on a great hand or versus Unkar in general.

I haven't considered Jedi robes in all honesty to date- i think it could be worth experimenting with, but again you would lose the mitigation if it was swapped out with guard.

It would be good to hear how your testing goes - I will let you know how I get on with overconfidence.

Thanks Jo

Its a written piece although we have podcasts from time to time.

I've played 1 overconfidence and its been pretty good. not sure about the second one.

I saw that you lost in the finals of another store champ to a gent playing Luke/Rey. Would you know him? I'm trying to track his list down as well.

Yes I do, he is called Mat - this is his decklist
