After finishing second in a 16 player Championship last week, i took some notes and made few changes to make this deck more agro while still hard to beat.

I thought about just leaving one Lightsaber and change the other one for Jedi Robes for a cheaper upgrade. The reason is that i don't feel i need the Sabers to do damage. Makashi Training can bring those crazy modifiers that add tons of damage quick. However, the Lightsaber can bring redeploy and the 2 unblockable damage and that is more relevant that what the Jedi Robes can bring. I added the second Rey's Staff to make Makashi Training more relevant, but that also makes Destiny a little less effective, but it shouldn't be that bad.

I still have a mix of "one ofs" in the event section, but after another tournament or so i could start getting a better idea which ones i want to cut or double up. Destiny seems to still be important since this deck doesn't produce much resources and lots of events cost 1. For instance, this is very relevant when you spend your resources playing and upgrade but still need to mitigate the very next turn. With Destiny you can still do that for the price of your worst die in your pool.

Finally, i think the reason why this deck performes good agaist Poe/Maz (50-50 maybe) is because the deck is always ready to take damage due to its inherent shield factory. If you can't stop the action cheating, then become tougher to beat while dealing tons fo damage. And that is something Qui-Gon Jinn - Ataru Master and Rey - Force Prodigy know how to do.

For now, i will try it like these, and hopefully i'll test it our in another tournament soon and make more changes if neeeded to.

How about -1 High Ground +1 deflect? I think decks that can should run 2 in this meta, you always have a blue character, it doesn't require control of the BF, and although it doesnt help against melee damage it does do as much or more damage to a character even if its not targeting a character dice.

What are your thoughts on the Journals of Ben Kenobi? Are they essential or can they be replaced/reduced?

@TattooedOni You might be right, but thinking about it, i faced 4 Emokids decks, 1 Palpatine, and Poe/Maz. So right now meele is about 50-50 in the current meta, being Palpatine and Poe/Maz the 2 top range damage contenders. That is why i use one and leave High Ground as my second Deflect. I know the battlefield owenership might be a problem in ocassions, but i think this deck can pull some very fast turns. Again, after a few more tournaments things will keep shaping around. Thanks for the advice.

@ksc1278 I think it could be replaceable (it is not Vibroknife) but at the same time i won't replace it, just because there is nothing better at that cost yet. However, Journals of Ben Kenobi still packs lots of interesting things to give. Starting for the obvious, the dice faces. Also, the fact that it only costs 1, it allows you to have great turns with good resource management and HAND management. There has been times where my opponent totally forgets about its action ability (usualy when are blanks) and they let the guard down (per say, claiming battlefied leaving them with no more reactions), then i draw an extra card right after with Journals of Ben Kenobi and have an extra reroll that might cause tons of damage.

Even if we know the mechanics of this game by rule and know how to play them it doesn't mean we know how to maximize it. Hand management is one of those, where we know it is important, but we just getting to know the extend of its importance. The first world wide opener was at World's, where the Champ deck had 2 Boundless Ambition that helped him win the finals. You can make a deck super consistant by adding infinity rerolls, so there you go, no surprise, drawing cards is a strong mechanic in this game too.

I been trying to make qui rey work. I'm using a similar set up. But I have 2 Overconfidence, One With The Force and 2 Handcrafted Light Bow . It seems I'm using shields for protection more then pinging. My draws have been crap and resources are starved. I guess I could throw in Destiny. Any suggestions.

@Tyious The purpose of this deck is to deal damage quick as you become tough to beat. One With The Force is a great card, but too slow for this set up. Same goes for Handcrafted Light Bow. I would try one instead of one of the Lightsaber. The main point to lower your cost of the upgrades is to be able to play more events that cost one. However, my list only has 5 events that cost 1 and 1 that cost 2, leaving 10 events at a zero cost. And even so, i added one Destiny and having the second copy in the maybe spot.

I usually take as many shield as possible early in the game and only pinging away if i had extra amounts. It is more typical for me to use Qui-Gon Jinn - Ataru Master ability to finish off characters or to get rid of their shield if need to.
