LEGACIES UPDATES

I like to leave what I already wrote, so you can see what was the deck's evolution, what did work, and didn't. If you just need to overview, look for the bold text :)

Greetings SWD community!

I've always loved Poe Dameron in awakenings, and had a blast playing it in the early days! But the power level in Spirit of rebellion made it just too stoopid strong with Maz Kanata, and so I left him for other decks more fun. Now is the time of balance AND fun!

I've been working on this list since a couple of weeks now, it has been gowing through lots and lots of different game plans, and this is starting to be the list I really like, and being as much consistent as possible, whatever the rolls.

I won't give a detailed explanation on how the deck works, but more my choices, and the evolution of the deck.

My last biggest entries were :

  • Poe Dameron's Blaster, which is FANTASTIC, battlefield claim works so good, exactly the same die sides than both characters, really good. Playable twice, since the first is played, and the second can be discarded with poe's special.
  • Fast Hands, with this upgrade, Ezra Bridger is being unmanageable by the opponent, becoming a potential target instead of Poe Dameron. So powerful to resolve a DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol 3 instant.

  • Electroshock, over Field Medic. Why compare them? Well first, I had only this slot left, and second, they basically do the same, prevent 2 damage. Except that Electroshock is better for many reasons : removes specials, a damage side sitting with a modifier is potentially 2 damage dice avoided, Palpatine's die etc...

Legacies Updates

  • -2 Electroshock
  • +2 Hasty Exit -> guess what, you will (nearly) ALWAYS claim with this deck, which means a FREE damage removal... nothing else to say
  • -2 Sound The Alarm
  • +1 Retreat
  • +1 Hyperspace Jump -> these are stronger because it can happen very quickly and forbids your opponent to do anything by the time you already done all what you wanted, sooo basically doing way more than rerolling. Also, another switch battlefield is not to neglect!

The cards there aren't and might raise questions :

  • U-Wing, I put Y-Wing over, because it does the 4 whatever the number of opponent you are facing. And letting the opponent choose if they want to to soak up is not that big of a deal, since Ezra Bridger's here for it before. Why choose between and not include them both? I think too much throwable cards are sticking to the hand, and removals are being more and more important to me.

Legacies Updates

  • -2 Y-Wing
  • -2 Dug in
  • +2 U-Wing
  • +2 Pirate Speeder Tank -> I did playtest a lot, and basically, lots of deck in my meta run Chance Cube, and often 3 characters teams, in which both cases, Y-Wing is literally doing nothing... I decided to switch back to U-Wing for the 3 , and the for 3+ teams. Only fools don't change their minds :) The Pirate Speeder Tank is really good, didn't play it much yet, but the few times I did, it was quite remarkable : 2 dmg + 2 and claiming for another 2/3/4 from the other Poe's die and +2 dmg from Planetary Uprising? ouch... better than a dug in :D also claim for 1 and 5/7 indirect damage is really strong against 1 character left...

  • C-3PO, waaaaaaay too slow, predictable, and in order to be viable, you have to put some Partnerships, which are dead cards when you don't have... Good'ol' New Orders, for the surpise of Poe being big damage. Also, New Orders is here for you to take the 2 at the beginning of the game, when you let the opponent think they're safe on their battlefield :p
  • Negotiate, seems good at first sight with Ezra Bridger, but redundant with Loth-Cat and Mouse, which does the same in a slightly better way , because you have more control on what you're removing in the opponent's pool dice AND no ressource cost. (removing 2 blanks from an opponent has less impact than removing a damage side...)

Legacies Updates Thoughts

  • Easy Pickings : seems to me so good that I might try and find a spot for the list... I saw too much situations where this card just wrecks an entire turn.

  • Vandalize : I try to learn from the people who are good at the game (thegandork's EPoe Dameron/EHondo Ohnaka very interesting article he made), and it can clearly act as a removal, in a definitive way. As Ezra Bridger can give you those extra dice when it does nothing useful for the turn. Maybe try it instead of 1 Loth-Cat and Mouse...?

That's about it, I'll continue to update it, and beware, the output damage can be huge very quickly, well 'cause it's still an aggro deck :)

Thanks for reading, and as always, any feedbacks are good to take! ;)

Very solid list. Really like the direction here. My only suggestion would be to fit in a couple easy pickings as they will certainly focus down Poe first. Maybe drop a couple of blasters. I'm definitely going to be testing this list out! Good job man.

I stared at you list for a good minute trying to contemplate what to drop for easy pickings. The obvious answer is Loth Cat but zero cost and the ability to use Ezra's sub-par dice to such good effect is too tempting. Great list. Will definitely try out. My concern is that there isn't much aimed at protecting Poe in a meta of illusions and second chances that drag out games. I'm currently testing a ePoe/Yoda deck.
