Shield up and heal as much as possible...outlasting burst damage is the key to winning. Force Speed on Aayla, lightsabers on Qui-Gon (2x Shoto Lightsaber is ideal). Aayla is there to make sure that force speed hits its special as well as blank out big dice and focusing one of yours, which allows for ideal rolls using focuses or Concentrate style setups without worry that it's going to be mitigated.

Rend is to get rid of Sith Holocron, Running Interference, Maz's Vault and Chance Cube, key cards in Sabine/Ezra, Obi-Maz, and Kylo/Talzin.

Close Quarters Assault is universal counter in this deck. So many decks are focused on getting optimal draws in their opening hands, so if you can knock out their opening hand you deal death blows to OTK or remove key combo cards like Never Tell Me The Odds and Concentrate

I think the upper end of top 16 is where a 'regional consideration' deck like this will typically end up. It rises above the chaff due to the survivability from shields and Ancient heals, but it's a coin flip when playing the 'U can't remove this' burst damage decks like Sabine and Obi/Maz. In those cases Rend, Close Quarters, and control the good rolls when you have the opportunity.

Round 1 vs 7th/Boba (loss)

Really bad rolls, and he got out Maul's Saber on the first turn. Had to sack damage for Guard to stay alive. Once Qui-Gon went down it all defensive from there.

Round 2 vs Obi/Maz (win)

Was able to rend on the first turn, got 2 sabers on Qui gon in the first round. Shields were able to keep him alive long enough to drop Obi-wan, and Maz went down shortly after

Round 3 vs eQuinlan/Aphra (win)

was able to control Quinlan's dice whenever he rolled a special. There were several times that he had 6 cards in his hand and I had 0, but he was never able to capitalize on it. Quinlan went down pretty quickly when he wasn't able to kill anyone when his special.

Round 4 vs Talzin/eThrawn (win)

Talzin was able to get set up quickly and killed Aayla during the same round I killed Talzin. He had rocket launchers in his hand but Close Quarters Assault knocked them out. Thrawn wasn't able to draw any weapons and ended up having 18 when he died. Close quarters saved the day, otherwise I'd have been toast.

Round 5 vs Obi-Maz (loss)

Got 0 rend in my opening hand, he drew 2 vibroknives and 2 RI in his. He got them both out, had vibro/RI combos that hit for 8 unblockable each time. Couldn't overcome the burst damage and was unable to mitigate RI to compete.

Round 6 vs eKylo/Talzin (win)

Was able to get Close Quarters x2 and Rend in my opening hand. Kylo missed damage twice by guessing blue and picking grey cards. Rended Chance cube after he had used Talzin to focus it to a 3 which burned his damage for thar round, then used Close Quarters to discard Force illusion and Ancient lightsaber from his. Synchronicity killed Kylo with unblockable so his other force illusion didn't prevent any damage. Talzin went down to a Force/Speed/Caution/Riposte combo along with previously existing

Finished at 11th overall out of 50, cut to top 8 only included on 4-2 player so overall this performed pretty well.
